    Our School

Bret Harte Union High School District provides a safe school environment that allows all students equal access and opportunities in the district's academic and other educational support programs, services, and activities. The campus is one of two schools in the District: Bret Harte Union High School, a traditional comprehensive and independent study high school and Vallecito High School, a continuation high school. Bret Harte Union High School operates on a traditional-year schedule composed of four quarters and currently operates on a modified block schedule.

Bret Harte Union High School firmly believes that there must be involvement between the school, the district staff, parents, and community members. Only by working together can a strong educational program be created which enables students to look forward to the challenge of the future.  Students must be prepared intellectually technically, and socially for the world of work, advanced vocational training, and/or higher education.
