    Student Schedules: 2022/2023

    Friday, June 3, 2022

"Today, prospective 2022/23 student schedules were released and can be accessed on the student and parent portal of Infinite Campus.  Please understand, that though this is the likely schedule for next year, over the summer, the schedule may change as we look to balance classes and change schedules due to summer school work.  I would like to thank our Bret Harte staff for working so diligently over the last two months to work with students and families to give them the best course schedule as possible.  We are aware that some of the student choices for courses for next year may have changed.  To request a schedule change, each student must complete a Schedule Change Request Form (available electronically using this link or in paper at the school front office), including the reason for the request and parental signature.  Non-essential requests, such as: to be with friends or to change teachers, will not be granted.  All requests must be made the first two weeks of the school year to receive consideration, unless the reason for a change is based on an inappropriate placement and should be submitted to Ms. Sherryl Godfrey.  On behalf of the Bret Harte Staff, we hope you have a wonderful and relaxing summer and can use this time to rejuvenate yourself for next year.  We look forward to having you in our classrooms again in August!”

In the event of adverse weather conditions, a late start is possible. The decision is made between the joined efforts of Transportation and CHP.  If the weather conditions warrant a late start, you will receive a voice dialer and text message, based on the student’s communication preferences, indicating a late start. An additional resource regarding late starts are the following local radio stations: KVML’s 1450 AM, 93.5 FM KKBN, and 102.7 FM KZSQ and mymotherlode.com. During inclement weather all students waiting at bus stops will be given a ride to school whether or not they have a bus pass.

    Our School

Bret Harte Union High School District provides a safe school environment that allows all students equal access and opportunities in the district's academic and other educational support programs, services, and activities. The campus is one of two schools in the District: Bret Harte Union High School, a traditional comprehensive and independent study high school and Vallecito High School, a continuation high school. Bret Harte Union High School operates on a traditional-year schedule composed of four quarters and currently operates on a modified block schedule.

Bret Harte Union High School firmly believes that there must be involvement between the school, the district staff, parents, and community members. Only by working together can a strong educational program be created which enables students to look forward to the challenge of the future.  Students must be prepared intellectually technically, and socially for the world of work, advanced vocational training, and/or higher education.
