Varsity Head Coach- Jacey Porovich
Posted 3/27/19

I was born and raised in Murphys and am proud to say I attended Bret Harte throughout my high school years. While a student at BH, I played four years of volleyball, basketball, and softball before pursuing athletics at the next level.

I chose to continue my collegiate career at Eastern University in Pennsylvania where I was blessed to be able to play four years of volleyball and basketball and three years of softball. While at Eastern our volleyball program (NCAA DIII) was ranked nationally and we made NCAA tournament appearances all four years I was there. Some of my greatest achievements were All American Honorable Mention, First Team All Region, First Team All Conference, as well as Conference Championship MVP. My time at Eastern was incredible, but it would not have been the same without my volleyball family.

After finishing my undergraduate and graduate degrees, I served as the Head Coach of a small catholic college that was also located in the Philadelphia area. During that time I also coached U17 and U18 club volleyball.

After spending 10 years on the east coast, I decided it was time to move back to Calaveras County. I taught Special Education on the Bret Harte campus for four years before transitioning into a full time Physical Education position. I have been continuously coaching BHVB since the 2012 season and look forward to many more seasons to come. I am passionate about this school and this sport, but even more so I am passionate about being a role model for the student athletes in our program. Bret Harte Volleyball is not just a program, but it is a family.

I am married to my best friend from high school, Kenny, and we are blessed to have two little girls, Braya and Kensley.
