Free ASVAB Career Interest Profiler

Sophomore through senior students who would like to take the ASVAB Career Assessment test can sign up in the main office.  The test will be administered on Wednesday, October 24th from 8 am-11 am in the Learning Center.  The test is free and is administered by the military. You do not need to be interested in a military career to take the test.  Results are used to help you explore career options.  Interpretation of results will be on November 2nd during Pond. 

California State University Application Workshop

Seniors applying to any of the 23 California State University campuses should attend the CSU workshop.  An outreach officer from Stanislaus will be here to assist you with completing your application to any CSU campus on October 31st during Pond.  See Mrs. Millar for a pass.

Prudential Spirit Award

Are you a student who has made a difference in our community or school by volunteering?  Your Principals want to recognize your efforts and all you have to do is apply online by November 6, 2018.  Applications are available at spirit.prudential.com.  Five local students will be recognized and our top student becomes eligible for state and national recognition.  Stop by Mrs. Millar’s office if you have questions!

University of Pacific Rep On Campus

Admissions Counselor Corin Rau will be in the quad during lunch on Wednesday, November 7th.  Look for the UOP table and come by to find out about great local scholarship opportunities.  No need to sign up, just stop by the table!  All grade levels are welcome! 

Columbia College Mini Fair

Seniors are invited to visit Columbia College on Thursday, November 8 between 9 AM-2PM to meet with college admissions representatives from Academy of Art, Arizona State University, Brandman University, CSU Chico, CSU Sacramento, CSU Stanislaus, Holy Names University, Humphreys University, Pacific Oaks College, UC Davis, UC Merced, UC Santa Barbara, University of Pacific, and William Jessup University.  

Modesto Junior College Prospective Athlete Update

Senior athletes who apply to Modesto Junior College are invited to Pirate Day on Saturday, November 17th.  Stop by Mrs. Millar’s office for information on registering for this event now!

Showcasing Scholarship Opportunities

This section showcases outstanding scholarships available at the regional and national level and will be changed periodically.  A full list of scholarships is available on the scholarship link on the left side of the webpage.

Seniors planning to major in engineering are encouraged to apply for the San Joaquin Engineers Scholarship.  Six $2000 scholarships will be awarded.  Applications 

Seniors planning to attend a California Community College are encouraged to enter the SNAPS for College Scholarship contest.  Top prize is $5000.  Weekly prizes are also up for grabs.  Registration  Click the Snaps for College banner and follow the prompts. Contest closes December 30, 2018.

Seniors with over a 3.5 GPA and who have scored higher than a 23 on the ACT or 1150 on the SAT and have financial need as documented by an EFC from their FAFSA application are strongly encouraged to apply for a Hagan Scholarship.  Up to $6000 per semester, study abroad assistance, and additional investment funds are available.  Students are required to meet additional scholarship steps throughout their college career.  The deadline to apply is November 15, 2018.  Application  Stop by Mrs. Millar’s office if you have questions or need assistance with your application materials.  The scholarship targets students from rural communities and approximately 1 in 3 applicants receive funding!

Bret Harte Class of 2020, have you started thinking about college and the steps you need to take to make your dreams a reality?  By completing a step in a new Collegeboard program you have the opportunity to win a scholarship worth $500-$2,000; complete all six steps and you could win $40,000.  No essay or minimum GPA is required!  Register

The Bret Harte Memorial Scholarship

The Bret Harte Memorial Scholarship is a donation-based scholarship  awarded annually by the BH Scholarship Committee to deserving students who qualify by GPA and  have plans to continue their education at either a college or a career tech program.  Students must have demonstrated  financial need.  The number of scholarships and the award amount are based on the number of donations that are received year-by-year.  Please donate if you can.
